SUGGESTIONS

DATA ENTRY RULES

1. Always select items which are close together. More likely to produce high probability diagnoses. This is because common symptoms of a given disease are always kept close together for ease of selection.

2. Always select more than 2 symptoms and limit symptoms to less than 8. You can always add symptoms later if required

3. Symptoms are put into the select box in the order of prevalence seen in primary care. For instance in respiratory symtoms colds and cough are put on top and other symptoms later

3. To look for a symptom go to the body system which is most likely to have the symptom and then go through the listed symptoms under the body system in order of descending prevalence. You can always search for symptoms using the search button.

4. All the symptoms in the symptoms in the selection box are categorized under 29 modules equivalent to body systems mostly - "RESPIRATORY MODULE", "GIT MODULE","HEADACHE MODULE","BACKACHE MODULE","CHEST PAIN MODULE", "PSYCH MODULE","CNS MODULE","HEAD INJURY MODULE","MSK MODULE", "GENERALIZED SYMPTOMS MODULE","ENT MODULE","EYE MODULE", "DIZZINESS MODULE","GYN MODULE","URTICARIA MODULE","SLEEP DYSFUNCTION", "GENITOURINARY MODULE","CHRONIC DISEASE MANAGER MODULE - CDMM","CDMM - OVERALL MANAGEMENT", "CDMM - KNOWLEDGE","CDMM - EMPOWERMENT","CDMM - ADHERENCE","CDMM - PATIENT ENGAGEMENT", "CDMM - DISEASE RELATED QOL","CDMM - SELFCARE","PAEDIATRIC MODULE", "RED FLAGS - UNIVERSAL RED FLAGS","RED FLAGS - RISK BASED RED FLAGS", "RED FLAGS - SYMPTOMS BASED RED FLAGS"

DIAGNOSTIC STATISTICS

EXPLANATORY POWER (EP) = Input symptoms seen in the disease / number of symptoms in the input
CONTRIBUTORY POWER (CP) = Input symptoms seen in the disease / number of symptoms in the disease
RULE OUT POWER (ROP) = Disease symptoms not seen in the input list / number of symptoms in the disease
COMORBIDITY POWER(COP) = number of indicants in the set difference / number of symptoms in the input set

Explanatory power means the degree to which the input symptoms explains disease
Contributory power means the degree to which the disease explains the symptom of the patient
Increasing ROP means the disease can be excluded with increasing confidence
Increasing COP means an alternate disease must be considered with increasing confidence
